Welcome to the blog of The Free Public Library of Monroe Township. This purpose of this blog is to keep our patrons up to date with changes to the library.  There may be some things added in the future,such as an online book chat, so keep checking back for updates.

Here are the latest photos from the new library.  The library staff is working hard to get the library ready for opening.  We do not have a date yet for the Grand Opening.  We are still installing the furniture and we are waiting for Verizon to install our internet.  Please be patient.  It will be worth the wait.  As soon as we have an opening date, it will be posted here, on Facebook, and on Twitter.  Thank you!!!!!! --Jenn M.




 

Library Director Beth Lillie held a preview tour of the new library on Friday, August 21st from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.  Mayor Michael Gabbianelli, members of Town Council, and members of the Library Board of Trustees were also in attendance.  The preview kicked off with the raising of the flags by members of the American Legion.  Visitors were then ushered in to the meeting room where Mayor Gabbianelli presented Library Board of Trustees member Barney Corrigan with an award for his dedication to the library project.  The visitors then watched a short dvd of the library construction before beginning the tour.

The inside of the new library is nearly complete and is looking FABULOUS.

The new library is nearing completion, and we are beginning to make arrangements for its patrons.  The library will be closed for the move to the new building during the entire month of August!  We will be re-opening sometime in September.  There is some information of which patrons should be aware:

1. Item holds and Inter-Library Loans will stop as of July 10th.



2. As of July 24th, patrons will no longer be able to check out materials from the Monroe Township Library.



3. All library activities will cease as of July 31st.  This includes faxing, computer usage, etc.  The library will not be open for business after July 31st.



4. All items checked out on the 24th of July must be returned by August 7th to avoid penalties.  Please bear in mind that if your return date is prior to August 7th, then your item is still due on your original return date.  For instance, if your check-out slip reads that your items are due by August 1st, those items must be returned by August 1st to avoid late fees.        



5. Items may still be returned to the outside drop box on 306 S. Main Street until further notice. 

*Please remember that during this time, patrons can still visit any of the LOGIN libraries in Gloucester County and check out materials.*

Carpeting is being installed and the signs are now in place.
